Visiting Tenerife, Canary Islands!

Island vibes: warm weather, shades of blue, and palm trees for days. We visited the stunning island of Tenerife and are sharing where we stayed and what we did.

Researching is key for finding proper accommodations. Prior to booking our flight to Tenerife, I took some time to look for a hotel to stay in. Some important features we look for include the following: positive reviews, safety, and central location. The Mare Nostrum Resort checked all 3 boxes. Luckily, that area has several hotels, so if our recommendation isn’t ideal for you there are plenty of other hotels.

The hotel offers pick up which we opted for from the Norte Airport. Ideally you would want to fly in to the south airport, but prices were cheaper if we flew in from the north. 

Check-In was quick and informative. We were given access to towels, a game room, and entertainment was available each night. We chose the breakfast option with our stay. The key is to eat breakfast from 7-9:30 am, after that it gets full and the line is long. The buffet has a variety of foods and drinks which I recommend you try.

The location of the resort is central to several types of stores that range from brand name, souvenir shops, jewelry, shoes, pharmacy and convenience stores.

It is a place that we would gladly return to!

Here is what we recommend you check out while exploring Tenerife:

• Visit the Monkey Park 
  • Hop on a taxi and let them know you’d like to go! Arriving early is ideal as lines can form early in the afternoon. You will be able to feed guinea pigs, see several types of monkeys, lemurs, and birds. You also have the option to purchase food to feed the animals or bring your own veggies. On your way out there will be taxis waiting and you can certainly take one back to your hotel. https://www.monkeypark.com/
• Looking to go shopping?
  • Siam mall is a great place to explore with over 70+ shops. The mall features dining as well. Taxis frequent the place so you can always take one there and back! https://ccsiammall.com/
• Eat at Fiore!
  • Amazonia Fiore is a stunning Italian restaurant. We could not stop soaking in the gorgeous decor. The drinks, food, and dessert were lovely and make it a definite spot to visit! https://amazoniafiore.com/
