Cappadocia was one of our top places to visit in Türkiye. We thoroughly enjoyed the sights and food. Here are our recommendations for where to stay and things to do!
There are SO many hotels you can stay at. We obviously recommend whatever fits within your budget since there are several different options. We opted to try two hotels. One that was right in the center of the city and the other was about a 15 minute walk to the city center.
Upon arrival at Kayseri Airport we were picked up courtesy of Helios Shuttle Transfers. We selected the option so that we were the only ones being driven to the hotel which was nice. It was around a 50 minute drive from the airport to our first hotel.
The first hotel we stayed in was Osmanli Cappadocia Hotel. Upon arrival you are greeted by the front desk. They speak English and take the time to inform you of their services and the variety of things to do while you are there. I suggest packing lightly as many of the hotels do not have elevators. As a result, it was difficult to lug our luggage around but thankfully the hotel staff was helpful. The rooms were fine with your standard TV, porch, etc. The rooftop was lovely. It had a spectacular view of the town and the balloons. You can also order off their menu, but I’d recommend sticking to their breakfast and then venturing into town for dinner. Their breakfast is a lovely spread of traditional Turkish foods.
Walking to the town center was around 15 minutes. While we did it a few times, it can be a bit confusing especially since our phones didn’t have the best service. Staying in a centrally located hotel can be beneficial as well.
The second hotel we stayed in was the Sultan Cave Suites. After 14:00 on the day of arrival was check-in and check out time was 11:00. This hotel was stunning to stay in. We opted for the rooms with the balcony and it was such a lovely experience to sit outside listening to the call to prayer. Many people frequent the restaurant so there may be a wait but I’d suggest eating at least one time there. Our favorite part was breakfast. Their spread of breads, jams, olives, cheese, sweets and drinks was amazing. Their rooftop area is ideal for pics. As a result, the earlier you get up the better to secure a spot to take pics or get in line. The staff was friendly and helpful and I would definitely return.
We hope you find our information helpful.
